The production of natural gas has grown steadily, and imports have continued to grow rapidly. In August, 18.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%; 10.86 million tons of natural gas were imported, a year-on-year increase of 22.7%. From January to August, 152.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced, a year-on-year increase of 5.7%; 77.71 million tons of natural gas were imported, a year-on-year increase of 9.4%. In August, the production of major energy products in industrial enterprises above a designated size all maintained growth. Compared with July, the production of raw coal and crude oil accelerated, while the production of natural gas and electricity slowed down somewhat. I. Production of raw coal, crude oil and natural gas and related situations The production of raw coal has accelerated somewhat, and imports have maintained rapid growth. In August, 380 million tons of raw coal were produced, a year-on-year increase of 2.0%, with the growth rate 1.9 percentage points higher than that in July, and the average daily output was 12.33 million tons. 44.33 million tons of coal were imported, a year-on-year increase of 50.5%, with the growth rate 16.7 percentage points lower than that in July. From January to August, 3.05 billion tons of raw coal were produced, a year-on-year increase of 3.4%. 310 million tons of coal were imported, a year-on-year increase of 82.0%.

The growth rate of crude oil production has accelerated, and imports have increased at a faster pace. In August, 17.47 million tons of crude oil were produced, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%, with the growth rate 2.1 percentage points higher than that in July, and the average daily output was 564,000 tons. 52.80 million tons of crude oil were imported, a year-on-year increase of 30.9%, with the growth rate 13.8 percentage points higher than that in July. From January to August, 139.85 million tons of crude oil were produced, a year-on-year increase of 2.1%. 378.55 million tons of crude oil were imported, a year-on-year increase of 14.7%. The growth rate of crude oil processing continued to accelerate. In August, 64.69 million tons of crude oil were processed, a year-on-year increase of 19.6%, with the growth rate 2.2 percentage points higher than that in July, and the average daily processing of crude oil was 2.087 million tons. From January to August, 491.40 million tons of crude oil were processed, a year-on-year increase of 11.9%.

The production of natural gas has grown steadily, and imports have continued to grow rapidly. In August, 18.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%, with the growth rate 1.3 percentage points lower than that in July, and the average daily output was 0.58 billion cubic meters. 10.86 million tons of natural gas were imported, a year-on-year increase of 22.7%, with the growth rate 3.8 percentage points higher than that in July. II. Electricity Production Situation The production of electricity remained stable. In August, the electricity generation was 845 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 1.1%, with the growth rate 2.5 percentage points lower than that in July, and the average daily electricity generation was 27.26 billion kilowatt-hours. From January to August, the electricity generation was 5,866.3 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%. Looking at different types of electricity generation, in August, the growth rates of thermal power and wind power changed from increase to decrease, the growth rates of nuclear power and solar power generation accelerated, and the growth rate of hydropower changed from decrease to increase. Among them, thermal power generation decreased by 2.2% year-on-year, while it increased by 7.2% in July; hydropower generation increased by 18.5%, while it decreased by 17.5% in July; nuclear power generation increased by 5.5%, with the growth rate 2.6 percentage points higher than that in July; wind power generation decreased by 11.5%, while it increased by 25.0% in July; solar power generation increased by 13.9%, with the growth rate 7.5 percentage points higher than that in July.
