The "China-Europe International Transportation Corridor" natural gas automobile rally activity is the world's first LNG automobile rally activity. The "China-Europe" signed by China National Petroleum Corporation (hereinafter referred to as China National Petroleum Corporation), Gazpromium Corporation, and Kazakhstan National Petroleum Corporation "The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Engine Fuel and Infrastructure along the International Transportation Routes was initiated.
On September 4, the three-country joint convoy set off from Rudong, Jiangsu, China, and passed through three countries, China, Kazakhstan and Russia. The convoy traveled a total of 10,705 kilometers. On October 4, the event completed the car collection ceremony in St. Petersburg, Russia's second largest city.
In this event, the Chinese motorcade was composed of four LNG vehicles, including two LNG heavy trucks, one LNG coach, and one LNG mobile refueling vehicle. During the journey of 10,705 kilometers, the LNG coach refueled a total of 2,096.55 kilograms of LNG, which is equivalent to 19.58 kilograms per hundred kilometers; the LNG heavy trucks traveled 10,117 kilometers and refueled 2,787.29 kilograms of LNG, which is equivalent to 27.55 kilograms per hundred kilometers. Due to differences in factors such as the driving mileage, LNG prices, and refueling costs, the fuel consumption costs of the Chinese motorcade varied in the Chinese section, the Kazakhstani section, and the Russian section.
In terms of fuel consumption, in the Chinese section, due to the relatively complete infrastructure of expressways and gas refilling stations and the relatively warm climate, the fuel consumption was slightly lower than that in the Kazakhstani section and the Russian section. In terms of fuel costs, in the Kazakhstani section and the Russian section, due to the rich natural gas resources and lower gas prices, the economic efficiency was slightly better than that in the Chinese section. The Chinese motorcade traveled approximately 5,000 kilometers in the Chinese section, passing through 11 cities in six provinces and autonomous regions, with the longest single-day journey being 630 kilometers. Compared with diesel vehicles, it can save 43% to 45% of fuel costs for every 100 kilometers traveled.
